Government extended again the term for the municipalities to elaborate their Sanitation Plans, which will end on December 31, 2019.
Through a decree issued on last December 29th (Decree 9.254/2017), the Government amended Decree 7.217/2007, which originally provided for the elaboration of Municipal Plans before December, 2014 (afterwards enlarged to 2015 and 2017). With the new wording, those municipalities that do not have their Plan completed by the end of next year will not be able to benefit either from Federal Government resources nor funding managed by Federal entities, addressed to water and sewage public services.
