LACCA Live to feature panel with KLA Corporate partner

Karin Alvo will discuss building legal teams and strategic partnerships alongside executives from Accor, Shell, Samsung, JCB and Getinge; event at the Rosewood hotel will take place on May 7

Founding partner of KLA Karin Alvo, from the Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions practice, will participate in a panel at the 2026 edition of LACCA Live: São Paulo Meeting, to be held on May 7 at the Rosewood Hotel.

Karin Alvo will join the panel “Future-ready legal teams: strong partnerships and talent strategies” at 4:00 p.m., alongside legal executives from major companies. Together, they will discuss pathways to building more strategic legal departments prepared for ongoing market transformations.

The session will address topics such as strengthening relationships between in-house legal teams and law firms, attracting and retaining talent in the Brazilian market, the professional development of teams in an increasingly technology-driven environment, and the creation of more diverse and inclusive workplaces within the legal sector.

Joining Karin on the panel will be Magda de Castro Kiehl, General Counsel for Latin America at Accor; Gabriel Costa, Head of Litigation Legal at Shell; Fellipe Fortes, Legal, Compliance and Data Privacy Director at Samsung; André Margato, Head of Legal and Compliance for Latin America at JCB; and Juliana Ugarelli, Director of Legal Operations at Getinge.

The event

Held at the Rosewood São Paulo hotel, the event will bring together more than 300 general counsels and legal leaders from across Latin America for a day of networking and discussions on the key challenges faced by legal teams in an ever-evolving business environment.

Throughout the program, participants will explore strategic topics related to innovation, operational efficiency, talent management, and the institutional strengthening of legal departments, with a focus on practical solutions for the regional corporate environment.

LACCA Live is organized by the Latin American Corporate Counsel Association in partnership with Lexology and aims to foster the exchange of experiences among legal leaders and encourage innovation in corporate legal practice.

Representing KLA at the event will also be partner Melissa Kanô, from the Corporate, Mergers and Acquisitions practice, further reinforcing the firm’s participation in one of the leading gatherings in the Latin American legal market.
